The institute University Hospital Necker-Imagine, designed by Jean Nouvel, is dedicated to research on genetic diseases of children and adults. It will host about 400 scientists, physicians, engineers and technicians.
The building is fully clad in silk screened glass representing a DNA pattern and will be organized around a large atrium bathed in natural light where children can play.
In addition to the areas of research, it will include some clinical consultations with a clinical investigation center, a biological resource center, eleven reference centers for rare diseases, biostatistics center and a conference center on the top floor.
